Arches

Arches feature often in my work this year. They started showing up under a strict stay-at-home order, when I had ample time to consider the arches of my neighbour’s porch! When we were again allowed out, I saw arches everywhere. My favorite ones are the Quonset huts farmers use to house livestock feed and machinery.

As thresholds and bridges, arches feel especially apt as symbols of this time when new possibilities, openings and transitions are a way to frame what’s been happening to us.
